View (from property/room) in Hotel Amstelzicht
Hotel Amstelzicht is a very old Dutch house and has the traditional staircase. To modern eyes the staircase is steep like a ladder. This adds to the charm of staying here. The staff are super friendly and helpful and have good advice. Due to the steepness of the stairs we were asked if we preferred ground floor or top floor - up 3 flights and we chose top floor. The room was a very spacious attic room with 3 lovely big double glazed windows facing Amstel canal. Great views and no noise. One window could be opened. The bathroom was spacious and very clean. We loved staying in an authentic place and so centrally located. The bed was comfortable and the whole experience was very positive.

Room: We stayed in a triple room (203), and we were fortunate enough to have a canal view. The room was very spacious and clean, and the beds were comfortable. And as for the view, it was amazing! We were blown away!! Staff: Every member of the staff was friendly and attentive. You could tell they wanted us to have a great time in their hotel and in Amsterdam. Location: Everything is within walking distance of this hotel (if you don't mind getting the steps in) and if you don't want to walk it, the tram stop for the 4 and 14 is right behind the hotel at and the metro is a 5 min walk away.

The location was fantastic. We had a beautiful room that overlooked the water. Just behind the line of buildings is the Rembrandt square with hustle and bustle of restaurants, quick bites, souvenirs and grab and gos. I loved the charm of the building and ease of access getting in and out with the keys. Our room had a TV, a fan, storage, on suite bathroom. I also liked having a mini bar option as well as being able to store my own water in the fridge. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Although the hotel backs up to many bars, the room was very quiet. I really liked this hotel.

The staff was amazingly helpful. We had a last minute booking (after running into an issue at the place we originally had reserved for the night) and the location and the room were great! Worked well for us and our 20-yr old daughter, would work well for two couples as well. Spacious. The family room in the souterrain in the front. Surprisingly quiet too, for being in the middle of things. I forgot my laptop bag and computer, and the hotel called me and then held on to it for me for two more nights until I could pick it up on Monday. I would give an eleven if I could.

This property is a fantastic and unique hotel with decent rooms and an excellent location. It’s next door to an amazing pancake cafe and Irish bar with nearby pubs and supermarkets out the back. Central area was a short walk away but anything needed was close in all directions. The staff were really friendly and accommodating. The stairs (which we didn’t need in the end) are incredibly steep and windy but manageable as an able bodied couple. Nothing to complain about :)
